In a historic transaction, Great Canadian Entertainment, Canada’s leading gaming and hospitality company, has signed a definitive agreement to sell its landmark property, Casino Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island. The buyer is Petroglyph Development Group Ltd. (PDG), a wholly owned corporation of the Snuneymuxw First Nation. Casino Nanaimo, operating since 1986, will now embark on an exciting new chapter under Petroglyph’s management.

The Snuneymuxw First Nation, a Coast Salish People located on Vancouver Island, celebrates this partnership. Chief Mike Wyse expressed commitment to combining Snuneymuxw’s local expertise with the casino’s tradition of outstanding guest service and community contributions.
