Kristen Foxen pulled off an incredible comeback on Wednesday, winning the PokerGO Cup Event #7: $15,100 No-Limit Hold’em for a $348,300 payday. The Canadian pro, who started the final table as the short stack, battled her way to the top, securing her second PokerGO Tour victory of the year. With this win, she now sits atop the 2025 PokerGO Tour leaderboard, overtaking Joey Weissman.
A Rocky Start, Then a Dominant Finish
Day 1 of the tournament ended with Erik Seidel leading the chip counts, ahead of Patrick Leonard, while Foxen entered the final table with the smallest stack. Things didn’t improve at first—she lost about a third of her chips early on.
The first elimination came when Eric Wasserson, who had the shortest stack, busted in seventh place ($51,600) after losing his last few big blinds to Farid Jattin, who had taken the lead. That set the stage for a wild final table, where Foxen’s resilience shined.

Foxen’s Key Hands: The Turning Point
Foxen’s comeback began with a crucial double-up when her A♠ K♠ held up against Leonard’s A♣ Q♣. That gave her enough breathing room to play more aggressively.
- Sergio Aido, who had already won Event #5, found himself in trouble when 9♦ 6♦ doubled through Seidel’s K♠ 3♠.
- David Peters exited in sixth place ($64,500), followed by Aido ($90,300) when Foxen’s A♦ 10♦ dominated his A♠ 7♠.
- Seidel’s downfall came after his Q♦ Q♣ lost an all-in preflop showdown to Jattin’s A♣ J♦ when an A♦ landed on the flop. That sent the Poker Hall of Famer to the rail in fourth place ($116,100).
At this point, Foxen had built a massive chip lead over Jattin and Leonard. Leonard, however, wasn’t done. He doubled up through Foxen, briefly putting himself back in contention.
The Heads-Up Battle That Never Was
Jattin’s K♥ Q♠ fell to Foxen’s A♦ Q♦, sending him out in third place ($161,250). That left Foxen and Leonard heads-up, with Foxen holding a commanding 4-1 chip lead.
Leonard needed a miracle, but it never came. On the final hand, he shoved with A♠ 9♠, only to see Foxen call with K♠ J♥. The board ran out 10♥ 4♠ 4♣ Q♦ J♦, giving Foxen a pair of jacks and the win. Leonard settled for $225,750 as the runner-up.
Foxen’s Year Just Keeps Getting Better
This victory marks Foxen’s second win of 2025 on the PokerGO Tour. She previously took down the $10,100 PokerGO Tour Kickoff Series finale in January, earning $197,625.
She’s also been one of the most consistent players at the PokerGO Cup, notching her third cash in seven events. That consistency has now pushed her to the top of the PokerGO Tour leaderboard, making her an early favorite for Player of the Year.
Meanwhile, Joey Weissman and Eric Blair remain in a close race for the overall PokerGO Cup series title, which will be decided in the final event.
What’s Next?
The PokerGO Cup series wraps up on Thursday with Event #8: $25,200 No-Limit Hold’em, the biggest buy-in event of the series. With momentum on her side, Foxen might not be done winning just yet.
