J Resort Announces $130 Million in New Developments, Partners with JMF Presents for Events

The J Resort in Reno is continuing its transformation, announcing an additional $130 million in planned investments aimed at further elevating its downtown hotel-casino property. These new improvements include expansive changes to both the resort’s infrastructure and its entertainment offerings, reinforcing the property’s commitment to becoming a premier destination in the Reno-Sparks area.

Major Enhancements on the Horizon

As part of its ambitious expansion, the J Resort will dedicate $5 million to create a brand-new Festival Grounds. This area will further enhance the property’s Glow Plaza concept, which already serves as a hub for concerts and events. The Festival Grounds are expected to become a key venue for outdoor entertainment, attracting both locals and tourists alike.

“We’re excited about the direction we’re heading,” said Jonathan Boulware, regional vice president for Jacobs Entertainment, which owns and operates the resort. “This new space will offer even more opportunities for people to gather and experience the kind of events that can elevate the Reno region.”

Alongside the Festival Grounds, much of the $130 million will be allocated to predevelopment and construction work for the hotel-casino’s northern expansion. This phase of the project will include major upgrades to the resort’s front entrance off West 4th Street, which will be redesigned to offer a more modern and inviting experience for guests. Additionally, a 20-foot-tall sculpture commissioned from renowned Italian artist Richard Erdman will stand as a striking focal point at the entrance.

  • The new sculpture is just one example of how the resort is incorporating unique and artistic touches to enhance its visual appeal.
  • These developments are expected to create significant job opportunities and boost the local economy by attracting more visitors to Reno.

Strategic Partnership with JMF Presents

In addition to these infrastructural upgrades, the J Resort is deepening its relationship with JMF Presents, a prominent events company known for bringing high-profile entertainment to the region. This new partnership will enable the resort to host a broader range of concerts and events at its Festival Grounds, positioning the venue as a key player in Reno’s live music and entertainment scene.

With JMF Presents on board, the J Resort aims to provide a variety of cultural and entertainment experiences, appealing to both local residents and out-of-town visitors. The partnership underscores the resort’s vision of transforming the area into a lively and vibrant entertainment district.

Reno’s Hospitality Boom: A Sign of Growing Confidence

This announcement comes at a time when the Reno hospitality and tourism sectors are seeing a resurgence. As more visitors flock to the city, Reno is positioning itself as a serious competitor to other popular tourist destinations in the West. The expansion of the J Resort, with its combination of luxury accommodations and world-class entertainment, speaks to the growing confidence in Reno’s ability to attract both business and leisure travelers.

The additional investment in the J Resort’s infrastructure and its enhanced event offerings are part of a broader trend of development in Reno. Over the past few years, the city has seen a number of new hotels, casinos, and entertainment venues sprouting up, signaling that the area is evolving into a major destination for tourism and conferences.

This latest round of improvements to the J Resort signals Jacobs Entertainment’s commitment to ensuring that Reno remains a hotspot for both relaxation and entertainment. The new features promise to solidify the resort’s position as a top choice for both visitors and residents.

What’s Next for the J Resort?

Looking ahead, the J Resort’s expansion plans are just the beginning. The property will continue to enhance its amenities and event spaces, ensuring that it remains competitive in the growing hospitality market in Reno. With the partnership with JMF Presents already set to amplify its entertainment offerings, the resort is poised to attract even more foot traffic in the coming years.

As the resort prepares to break ground on its new developments, all eyes will be on Reno to see how the J Resort’s improvements help shape the city’s future as a major entertainment and hospitality hub.
