888poker Freeroll Passwords Now Run Through Universal Poker

PokerNews still lists four $150 888poker freeroll passwords for September, and the next heat is Sunday at 8:00 p.m. BST.

The code is no longer a Discord gift. Players must open a Universal Poker rakeback account, link it, and deposit before the password appears.

Sunday Still Costs a Password

The PokerNews Exclusive Freeroll is a No-Limit Hold’em tournament inside the 888poker lobby. Search for PokerNews, register with the week’s code, and you sit with 5,000 chips and blinds of 15/30. Late registration runs 60 minutes. The added prize pool is $150.

The September series is dated Sunday 6, 13, 20 and 27, each at 8:00 p.m. BST. Three of those heats have already been dealt. Sunday, September 27 is the one that is left.

PokerNews launched in this role years ago as a media partner of 888poker, which has been online since 2003. The hub page, last updated on August 5, 2026, still talks about Discord and social channels. The live September page, updated on September 14, tells a tighter story.

Discord Lost the Password Drop

For most of 2026 the same Sunday product has kept the $150 label, but the door in front of it has changed three times. Each change pulled the player one step closer to a tracked real-money account.

HOW THE LOCK TIGHTENED

1. January 2026: PokerNews points readers to its Discord server 48 hours before each Sunday $150 heat and treats an active 888poker account as enough.
2. May 31 to July 15, 2026: eight password heats, each with $500 in the pool, run for United Kingdom and Canada accounts (Ontario out). Passwords such as POKER, HAT, TABLE and SUNDAY are printed on the promo page. At least one deposit is required. Combined prize money is $4,000.
3. August 2026: the prize drops back to $150. Sign-up via Universal Poker plus a deposit replaces the open Discord drop, and the code is held until the rakeback application clears.
4. September 2026: the Universal Poker gate stays. Four Sundays are listed at $150. Players who cannot open Universal Poker in their country are told they are ineligible.

Spanish-language PokerNews pages on 888poker.es ran a parallel summer series with 200€ guarantees and printed passwords for verified accounts, without the rakeback desk. The English funnel is the one that moved the key off Discord.

888poker still uses its own social channels when it wants a crowd. Terms for the Global League in June and July told players to pull satellite codes from Instagram, Facebook, or passwords on 888poker’s own Discord. That is the operator talking to its list. The PokerNews Sunday is now someone else’s list.

Who Issues the Weekly Code?

Universal Poker is a rakeback network, not a poker room. PokerNews sells the Sunday password as a member perk of that network. PokerNews is not the only media brand with a named 888poker password room. The same lobby fills, most days, with small sponsored pools tied to affiliate sites, Facebook groups and rakeback shops. The prize on those heats is usually $50 to $150, sometimes $500 on a featured night.

PARTNER FREEROLLS AROUND THE SAME LOBBY

On Thursday, September 24, BetAndSkill called its $150 heat the last of the month, posted the password 888win, and parked a tracked 888poker sign-up link in the same post. That is the pattern. The code is content. The link is the bill.

Aggregator boards republish those codes the same day, GOAT for a Nettikasinota heat, EGYPT for PokerListings, numeric strings for RakeTheRake. Exclusivity, in practice, is a tournament title in the lobby. 888poker can still see which partner’s room filled, even when the password has leaked, because the event carries the partner’s name.

Club Level 80 Gets $10,000

The money 888poker keeps for people who already play sits on a different ladder. Club levels, earned by real-money poker, sports, casino and personal missions, open free tournaments that pay tickets or cash measured in thousands, not $150 headlines.

Buy-in on each of those is zero. They are No-Limit Hold’em, nine-handed. You do not get there with a Discord join. You get there by putting volume through the cashier until the club meter says so.

The media brand gets a live account it can attach to a deal.
